As usual, the Sharjah Light Festival shows are concentrated in the city center. Heart of Sharjah is the latest entrant as a venue in the eighth edition. The renovated Heart of Sharjah is a microcosm of the emirate’s rich cultural history and therefore a natural choice as venue for the light festival. The 8th edition of Sharjah Festival of Lights kicked off on 07th Feb. The ten day long journey in lights is spread over 18 locations and 21 shows across the Emirate of Sharjah. The public buildings selected for the light shows are well known architectural landmarks in the Emirate of Sharjah. Internationally renowned artists transform these beloved landmarks to a mesmerizing show of light, sound and colors.

Sharjah Light Festival (SLF) has been illuminating the major cultural and architectural landmarks of Sharjah for the last 7 years. SLF has now gained a lot of International acclaim and is one of the attractions to look out for during the cool winter months in UAE. Since its opening in 2012, Al Majaz water front has in the last few years turned out to be one of the most popular destinations for the residents of Sharjah as well as tourists visiting UAE. The waterfront area built around the Khalid Lagoon houses among others a play area for kids, a splash park, mini golf area, abra rides, jogging track and an art area.The clutch of cafe’s and fast food outlet provides a good dining option as well.
