Sharjah Light Festival (SLF) has been illuminating the major cultural and architectural landmarks of Sharjah for the last 7 years. SLF has now gained a lot of International acclaim and is one of the attractions to look out for during the cool winter months in UAE. I look forward to each year’s edition of this incredible light and sound show to improve my photography skills. It is always a challenge to capture moving and constantly changing lights at night.
The seventh edition of the 9 day long SLF illuminated 14 locations across the emirate of Sharjah – 9 within the city limits and 5 on the east coast.
Rains and strong winds ushered in #SharjahLF 2017 and the in the first couple of days one had to brave the cold chilly weather to enjoy the shows. I spent 5 evenings to cover all the 9 locations within the city. One gets immersed in the beauty of colors that you want to capture every possible moment. It is impossible to present them on a single post and so shall use a series of post to cover the SLF 2017.
The opening show and the main show of SLF2017 featured The University City Hall. The venue was illuminated by two shows – a 3D show titled ” Light Inspirations for the future” and ” Time Travel”
The 3D show added to the challenge of capturing the fast moving lights at night. Tried my best to freeze some of those moments.
The video mapping ” Time Travel” was a spectacular show of colors and music.
The pictures were shot in BULB mode with aperture set at f8 and ISO100. Shutter speed varied from 3 to 12 seconds. A couple of shots were taken at 25 and 30 seconds.
I shall return soon with the pictures from the other locations. Signing off until then.
